The white-tailed deer is Hibbing and Minnesota’s most popular big game animal and is found in every Minnesota county.[1] The white-tailed deer adapt well to most surroundings.[2] Deer are more than game though; they are both a traffic hazard and a nuisance by eating hay or corn stored for livestock during harsh winters.[3] One way to exclude deer from your eating your stored grains or your garden is to install and maintain an energized fence.[4] This forms a psychological barrier for the deer and stops them from eating and destroying you produce.[5] They main purpose that deer serve in Minnesota is to be hunted; not only does hunting provide food for families it also serves to keep the deer population down and prevent overpopulation.[6]
