The Hibbing High School Library is as old as the school itself. It contains approximately 16,000 items. The computer work area was put in during the mid-1980s in place of three offices.[1] The back room, once solely the library has a treasure that is registered with the Superintendent of Documents and the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. A sixty-foot mural entitled The Iron Industry, graces the west wall of the library. David Tice Workman painted it in 1913.[2] Visitors arrive almost every day from almost everywhere. There are various sculptures and bas reliefs that are originals.1
