The Hibbing High School Library is as old as the school itself. It contains approximately 16,000 items. The computer work area was put in during the mid-1980s in place of three offices. The back room, once solely the library has a treasure that is registered with the Superintendent of Documents and the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. A sixty-foot mural entitled The Iron Industry, graces the west wall of the library. David Tice Workman painted it in 1913. Visitors arrive almost every day from almost everywhere. There are various sculptures and bas reliefs that are originals.1
