Bennett Park is a city park in the Northern part of Hibbing, Minnesota. It was built in 1920, some 25 years after the community of Hibbing was established. When it was first built, Bennett Park consisted of 60 acres of land, and included a zoo, swimming pool, wading pool and conservatory. In 1978, these facilities were renovated and most of these things, like the zoo, swimming pool, and conservatory were removed. The wading pool was kept, although it was no longer used and it remains there today. In the renovation, new baseball fields, bocce ball courts, and horseshoe courts were made. In 2000, a skate park was put in.[1] Today, Bennett Park is cut down to 34 acres, and includes four pavilions, which are available for rental. It still includes a playground, baseball fields, bocce ball courts, and horseshoe courts.[2]
